SOUTH BEND A short chase and search for a burglary suspect today led police to arrest a nearly naked man, who was found hiding in the crawl space of a home.
Banning library mostly unscathed by fire (The Press-Enterprise)
The Banning Public Library is open for business despite a small fire in the attic on Monday. No books or any other library materials were damaged, Library Director Patti Hanley said by phone Wednesday. The fire was contained to the attic, which Hanley said is more like a crawl space. She said "a little bit of a smoke smell" remained in the library, particularly in the children's area.
