| Attic Black Mold From Condensation And High Indoor Humidity By M |
|
Black mold on attic sheathing is caused by high indoor humidity. High indoor humidity can be caused by HVAC humidifiers, crawl spaces with no vapor barrier, sump pumps not 100% sealed, a ventless appliance, poor dryer vents and more. Moisture travels to the attic because moist air is lighter than dry air. If it is cold or during winter time, this moisture condensates on the attic sheathing. The sheathing becomes wet and permits fungal amplification. For more good information on this topic go to wwwhouseinvestigationscom. Marko Vovk

Crawl space designs are causing major problems. The Crawls space should not be vented the exterior. The crawl space should have a proper vapor barrier. The crawl space should be properly conditioned and de-humidified. If you smell musty odors or mold odors in home that have a crawl space, you have moisture, leakage, condensation and mold problems.
