Black mold on attic sheathing is caused by high indoor humidity. High indoor humidity can be caused by HVAC humidifiers, crawl spaces with no vapor barrier, sump pumps not 100% sealed, a ventless appliance, poor dryer vents and more. Moisture travels to the attic because moist air is lighter than dry air. If it is cold or during winter time, this moisture condensates on the attic sheathing. The sheathing becomes wet and permits fungal amplification. For more good information on this topic go to wwwhouseinvestigationscom. Marko Vovk Ranked 2.66 / 5 1726 views 0 comments

Save energy, save money Series seg. 1, make your house safer and healthier. Can be retrofitted on almost any structure.Insulating crawl space concrete walls. Installing a 6 mill. vapour barrier. Using 4" pvc pipe the area under the plastic gets exhausted continously thru the draft created from a riser pipe running up a chase or a outside wall. This will remove radon and anything else below grade. You will keep mold down in the whole house. If its new construction be sure to install the riser in a chase the higher the pipe the greater the draw and pressure. Imagine all these 4" pvc tubes poking thru the plactic continually sucking the air out from under the plactic. This system should be used in any climate. Because you don't know what could be in the dirt under your house! This is the first in a series of save energy/save money. Thanks for viewing Keith
